Florence Citizens say NO to Sanctuary City issue

Florence City Council had a packed house on Monday, April 3, 2017.  An item/proposal to make Florence a sanctuary city had previously been discussed.  Though it was not specifically on the agenda, citizen residents filled the room to make their voices heard, knowing it had even been considered.

By far, the majority of those in attendance, including a fair number of vets and retired law enforcement opposed the idea at the standing room only meeting.  A vote for sanctuary status, taken by the mayor of those in the room was overwhelmingly voted down.

Our government's job is to keep it's own citizens safe first which is exactly what the President's Executive Order is structured to do.  The media's scare tactics insinuating all illegals will be automatically deported is just that, a scare tactic.
