Lane County Commissioners make appointment to vacant SD 7 seat
SALEM - The Lane County Board of Commissioners on Wednesday (December 14, 2016) appointed James Manning, of Eugene, to the Senate, filling the seat to be vacated when state Sen. Chris Edwards, D-Eugene, resigns at the end of the year.
In response, Senate Republican Leader Ted Ferrioli, R-John Day, released the following statement:
"The Senate Republicans welcome James Manning to the Senate and thank Sen. Chris Edwards for his service and commitment to our state. The session ahead of us provides a tremendous opportunity to work together to strengthen education and solve problems facing rural and urban Oregonians."
